Finally got the review done and uploaded:

I was sad to send the rifle back. After wrapping the review I have spoken with CADEX about the magazine issue. It has been resolved in the current chassis. We should be getting our hands on a Strike 30 Chassis sometime soon.

Re: Drake Associates Stalker Gen2 Video Review

Impressive video, presentation, and production. I really want to hear more about the updated chassis.

Re: Drake Associates Stalker Gen2 Video Review

Nice review.

Interested in the cadex strike 30 but lets face it, the cost of the platform is pretty damn high. One thing I would be interested in from the review: is the premium worth it?

Do you really see someone getting value out of the adjustments, rails, etc, on a regular enough basis that it is worth 1.5x the money (or more, depending on the other platform you are looking at!) of competing platforms like the XLR, etc?

You also have done a review on the XLR, etc. Where does this one stand up to some of those features? Are there other chassis' whose features you prefer in some areas to the design of the strike 30?

Re: Drake Associates Stalker Gen2 Video Review

I try to stay away from the "is it worth it". type of stuff since that is a purely subjective opinion. I try to remain objective when I review things and allow the viewer to decide if it's worth it.

If there is anything I have learned at my local range, it's that "worth" is not a universal concept. When the spectators start asking about the cost on my equipment I usually get gasps and some "i would never pay THAT for a (whatever)".

The cost is high, but you are getting a fully adjustable platform with a high end action that is not another Remington 700 clone. It looks unique and shoots very well. If you need to mount lights, illuminators, NV, etc. then the rails are necessary. If you don't then you may not see them as worthwhile.

The Strike 30 offers some different features from the XLR Evolution. I will try to get in depth when I get a chance to review the Strike 30 Chassis.

I really like the XLR. It offers enormous value. I am looking forward to getting the Carbon Fiber version to the range.

Re: Drake Associates Stalker Gen2 Video Review

Understood, and there is a lot of truth in what you say. We all have our own uses and perspectives that drive the idea of 'value'.

Great review, and well produced video, thanks for investing the time to share this stuff with us and on your site.

Re: Drake Associates Stalker Gen2 Video Review

Hi everyone, this my first post but not my last. Great review. I just wanted to to give a BIG THANKS to Chris and Drake Associates. Just got my Dual Strike 33 chassis friday, and it looks and feels awsome. I have Rem 700LA in 300wm, i will post some pics as soon as its all put together. If anyone is on the fence about buying this chassis don't be it's great and the customer service from the guys at Drake is top notch, you will not be disappointed.

Re: Drake Associates Stalker Gen2 Video Review

I love the reviews you do......very informative and unbiased.

That being said, I never have quite understood the cost for the platform.

But like you say, what something is worth is completely subjective.

Re: Drake Associates Stalker Gen2 Video Review

I just got my strike 33 this morning and it definitely looks good. I didn't have much time to mess with it before work though. The one thing I didn't see in the box was action screws, am I supposed to use the ones from the donor rifle or did I just miss them? I guess I'll find out this evening.

Re: Drake Associates Stalker Gen2 Video Review

I guess mine got overlooked for the action screws, not really a big deal, I had some screws that worked just fine. Here's a pic, it needs a real bipod and I'm finally going to break down and buy a good scope. I love it so far, I'll have a mag or 2 by sat and will be shooting sunday. I'm thinking about a tan grip too, I have the same Ergo in fde, that matches pretty well.
