I just picked up a Savage PC and I'm looking into a brake for it. Doing my research here, RWS keeps getting recommended. I like the fact that they go for about $40, or so I thought. I checked their site and I see them listed for $145, for the 3 port PDC. Is there a non "PDC" for $40 somewhere I'm not seeing?
I'm not opposed to paying more, it'll just have to wait if that's the case.

I PM'ed and emailed him both. His initial reply was via email, but he did reply to my PM telling me the brake would ship this morning?

Didn't take any until I got it on. I sprayed it with some high temp BBQ grill paint. Looks fine to me until I get the barrelled action cerakoted.

Re: RWS Muzzle Brake?

Stupid question, but how do you guys time these things when you install them...shims? Do they come with the brake and if not, where do ya'll source them?

Thanks and apologies for the mini-hijack...

Ideally you turn off the necessary amount with a lathe. That can give you a nearly seamless fit. Otherwise, shims or crush washer. I've also done it with a file and a steady hand.... layout fluid, go slow and test fit as you go.
