This build isn't as nice as some of the ones I've seen here, but it's what I've got right now. It's just about done. I've finally got it shooting pretty good. I'm guessing if I reloaded it would be alot better, but I just used the cheapest Winchester ammo at walmart for now.

Savage Model 11. 243
Vortex Diamondback 4-12X40 AO
Burris Low Xtreme Tactical rings
Caldwell bi pod

Future additions.
factory base for now, want to replace with picatinny rail
add small picatinny rail section to front of stock to add light
Elusive Wildlife XLR250 (night time hog hunting)
probably keep factory stock can't find rempacement with for DBM
trigger job just not sure which one

The 3 shots in the read on the left are my final group.
Farthest shot on right was sighting in, then the 2 almost below it were after correction. Overall I'm happy, it's enough to kill some hogs.

I would recommened a timmy trigger ( if they make one for the savage 11) or get a accu trigger from savage. I have a savage model 10 in a 22-250 and i got the accu trigger on it and wow it is great i would say right up there with the timmy trigger.

Nice rifle. My wife has one in 243 as well. She took an awesome antelope on the last day of her hunt with it too!! The 243 is a pretty nice round, with lots of load and projectile choices... which is why I shoot one too!!

For your trigger Id go with the Basix Savage #2 trigger. I have one and its easily adjustable and crisp. I set mine at 2lbs.
For a base, get the EGW 1pc.
Burris makes the rail tops (sold alone) to replace your smooth top rings, mount your light to that.

I have a M11 also but mine came with the accutrigger & has the blind magazine.
Shoots an average of .830" at 100yds with my handloads. I put the large bolt knob on it since I hate those small knobs.
Its a perfect Antelope/deer/pig/coyote rig.

I'm really liking the caliber, I'm learning more about it everyday. I like that my wife can shoot it without to much issue, and I don't leave the range after 40 rounds feeling like crap either. This is rifle for me will defiantly be a work horse(target, hogs, coyote, deer, and whatever else I find) that is for sure

5SPD I know the tops your talking about, basically take the top off and attach the other with the rail and mout light there, I was thinking of going this route, but I was also thinking for my spot and stalk hunts it would be nice to take the bipod off and put the light upfront, maybe even on a sling attachment rail, just to add a little weight upfront for balance. But I'd actually have to try it out to see how well it feels.

Either way I'm really starting to like this rig, I was doubting it for a little bit, but did some more reading on the .243, got a better scope, and it's starting to take shape, just wish I could find a stock, but oh well, I can beat the crap out of this one and not feel bad. Really waiting to see what how well it does againest these Texas hogs, got a feeling the .243 will win that battle.
