Other than hard turning knobs I have not really had any. As a matter of fact, the one that is on a .338LM slid about a half inch with no damage to the finish.

On the other hand I saw a number of references on the thread regarding the SS 1-6 special offer that indciated guys were waiting for replacement 5-20s. I'm wondering what problems these owners encountered.

You were probably referring to mine. It came with with some sort of distortion in the sight picture. Imagine looking through glass with a few water droplets on it. And one of the droplets being very near the crosshairs. I sent it back to SWFA and it was replaced. I had to wait a bit for the replacement, but I was waiting for my rifle anyways.

My Remington .308 SPS Tac that weighs 13.5 pounds with scope fell off a table 3ft high and landed on concrete.

I took the scope off when I got home and even the base because I had bought a vortex bubble level and installed it. I then took off to the range a few days later and the rifle shot .5 Mils low and .5 to the left. Cant complain mine are all good.

Mine had two minor issues with the parallax knob. The sleeve with yardage markings came loose and the parallax knob was hard to turn. I can't wait to get it back, it is a great scope. Had I known how long it was going to take to get a replacement I would have lived with it for a while (I am still very pleased they are replacing the whole scope rather than fixing it!).
The only thing I would do different is buy a non illuminated. I feel the illumination knob placement sucks , I am always accidently turning it on. I gave my Dad a non ill and it has been kick ass from day one. It made a big difference in his shooting and shot calling.

I'm a little surprised. I have no idea what their total sales have been but for the introduction of a new optic, it appears there have been almost no problems. Good on SWFA.

Best bang for the buck scope that I've found so far... I ended up selling my other scopes of various brands and ended up with 8 of them.

3 of the scopes initially had somewhat stiff parallax knobs but the more I used them the better they became. They all feel about the same now and I haven't had a problem with any of the scopes.

I keep telling myself I should upgrade the scope on my AIAE to something like a S&B or Premier "just because"-- but I have yet to encounter a situation where the SWFA 5-20 has held me back.

I like mine a lot. My only problem is that they adjust in CCW direction. I am sure I am one of the few that would like it to be available in CW.
