Anybody got a pretty close g7 on this bullet??? G1 is .620 so I was thinking .317 g7??? Does this sound right?

We have had them dead nuts on at 1500yds w/ 0.295. We have shot lots and lots of tac comps, ELR and F-class with this BC and any misses are on us, not the BC.

I've used James' data for first round hits at 1k-1100 with the G7, I ran data cards with his G7 converted to G1 and when I account for the DA. I loaded some up, shot the load at 100yd and put a few over the chrono, put together the data card and put 1, 3, 4, 5 onto a 12" disc at 1006yd. without any data verification in between.

If you want a bullet with a .62 G1 BC in 6.5mm, go up 10grains to the JLK 140gr. The 6.5mm JLKs are awesome bullets, with some of the lowest form factors you will find anywhere, including topping Berger in many cases. Super consistent piece to piece, and the 130gr is a thing of beauty - flat, slippery in wind and precise as some benchrest bullets. Problem is the new price tag: $0.56/pc. I will not pay that. I bought 2000pcs at $0.32/pc maybe two years ago, now nearly gone, and obliviously wish I had bought 4000.
Yep, the new price is going to really hurt the JLK's. I am sitting on about 9,000 of them, and when they are gone I'll have to find something else. They are great bullets, but not worth what he is having to charge to pay for the jackets.
I look at that this way:
1) JLK bullets are known to compete with or outrun Bergers in the popular sizes
2) Berger owns J4 jackets now
3) Berger supplies J4 to a competitor that outclasses them
4) Berger blows the jacket pricing out of the water in a way to get the competitor's business model to fall apart
As soon as I found out that Berger bought the J4's I knew this was only a matter of time. Here it is.
Actually, I believe J4 bought Berger, or at least that is what I took away from the Berger Reloading manual in the History of Walt Berger section (I wasn't reading this too closely so don't quote me on this).
In any case, J4 isn't the only source of precision jackets. Swampworks (manufacturer of JLK) has some other options. Sierra sells jackets for example. Perhaps Hornady would sell their new AMP jackets (which are very good, at least from the few I have used in 7mm). Also, Berger is having their own problems supplying bullets to the market, perhaps because their own J4 manufacturing costs have gone up (remember the 6.5mm bullet shortage at Berger a few years ago, which I believe was caused by the 6.5mm jacket machine taking a dump).
My understanding was that Berger bought out the J4's after that whole bullet shortage fiasco a few years ago, I could very easily be incorrect but I remember seeing the announcement that Berger had bought them out.
Sierra sells their jackets and they're very good from what I understand. There are a LOT of records that have been set with Cauterruccio (sp?) bullets and that's where Bob gets his jackets from.

I running a .605 BC and its about close. I do notice that I either have to up my velocity to get the data to match my real world results. By about 15 FPS.

Jake, try 0.597 instead and see if that solves the issue you're getting with pushing the velocity up 10-15fps.
Do you have your scope height set up correctly? Atmospheric data as well? .605 is quite a bit higher than anyone else is using. I have had 2 lots and found .593 to be correct.
That was going to be next question, how are you tracking the atmosphere info and if you're using a Kestrel, is it setup properly. Using the G1 I suggested above I zero'd at 100yd, took the rifle to 1000yd and had a first round hit at 1,006yd without shooting anything in between.
