What grease are you guys running in your glocks? I was told that the "bronze" or "gold" colored grease from the factory was supposed to remain in there and a similar or same grease is to be ran on the slide. I thought it was a shipping or packing grease and removed it during its first cleaning and replaced it with what ever gun oil I had around. So what do you recommend I put in there? Grease, oil... doesn't matter? Thanks.

Like stated above. Just a bit of lube the factory uses. Most Glock owners clean it out and place a drop of gun oil on the slide rails. Good to go and fire away.

As stated above it is just break in grease. No harm in removing it. I leave it in there for the first range session then remove it. In the glock armorers course i took several years back they recommended to put a single drop of oil on both sides of the slide & let it drip down the length of the slide then wipe off the excess.

You removed it?!?!?!? Oh man you are screwed now. Pistol won't work at all.

Seriously, I put a little grease in the railway and leave it at that. A little goes a long way.
