Range Report .308 Hornady A-max.... 168 or 178gr?

I've had real good success with 168gr Hornady A-Max bullets.

What are the advantages / disadvantages to the 178gr bullets ? Wondering if there's any reason to try 178's in my gun. (DPMS LR-308, 18" bbl, suppressed)

What twist rate is your barrel? How far are you shooting? If over 800 yards go with 178.

178 amax all around bullet, better in the wind, more downrange energy. I just wish they sold them in a 250 round bulk box.

Is there advantages - yes, if you plan on shooting past 800 yards. If you plan on shooting within 800 yards then the advantages will not show up enough to matter.
