I am about to build a new rifle on a Savage 111 action that I traded for. The action was originally a .300 WM. I am thinking about .338 Edge because I want something for long range. I have also thought about one of the Ultra Mags, as I have always been interested in the 7mm Ultra Mag. I would like to be able to shoot it out to 2000 yards. Give me your ideas on caliber for this kind of rifle. I don't care if the rifle is heavy, and will be using a quality brake, so recoil should not be a big issue either.
