Is there a way to tell if my bipod is genuine AI and not a versa-pod?

I've never seen a versa-pod in person so I don't have anything to compare to.

A good friend of mine owns a few parker-hales and says it's genuine. I have no reason to doubt the cool cat I bought it from either. I just don't want to be surprised if I decide to sell it. Now that I've used an Atlas it's hard to use anything else.

Thanks for your help!

The Versa-Pod are aluminum. The Gibbs bipod was a steel copy of the Parker Hale but with sloppy tolerances.

I have a Versa-Pod on my AI and it's all steel...no aluminum anywhere? As a matter of fact, after reading this thread I checked it with a magnet everywhere - spigot, legs, feet, etc.

The Versa pod I had was all steel. Do some searching for actual pics of each one and that should answer your questions, maybe Tom Irwin could help as well, he's with AI and post' here
