The lug it came with is only .188 (3/16"). I know its pinned but is this thick enough for magnum caliber? It will be bedded in a mcm a5.

Do you really think you're shoulder is tough enough to flex a 3/16" thick piece of steel? Don't worry about it.
Most don't. Our body acts as a shock absorber. Now you put that stock or barreled action into a very heavy fixture or worse a fixed position test fixture and combine that with a large caliber the lug will flex.
