Join the contest Subscribestanky was a fine coach. I got recruited at USA also and they had a fine program. When I came along in the mid 80s msu and lsu were pretty much tops. I played for RonPolk.Yep it's who gets consistent pitching from their staff, and the bats have to get hot to pull it off. Sorry fellas but I'm not pulling for SC or MSU!! lol. I played at South Alabama for Eddie Stanky, would of loved to play for LSU and could of but in the 70's they were at the lower end of the heap in the SEC!! I made the right choice!! That being said I AM pulling for LSU but Mark has it right, it's who's hot that counts.
In watching all the teams play this year I'm not seeing any real dominant team that just cannot be beat. I think the overall pitching is pretty outstanding as there are a lot of youngsters bringing it pretty hard. I think hot bats are going to be the key in the CWS.
We already know the pitching is going to be good!!
You are correct Mark, I could feel blood rushing to my face everytime they went after those high pitches and popped up!!!
MSU grad here and pulling for the DOGS! However, I wish Vandy and SC could have made it Omaha.
Msu wins 5to4. Throw at end of game almost gave me heart attack! Hahaha!
Bulldogs eat bruins. Hahahaha!!
You must be watching another game
I just don't want to be in this thing 2 and out. That would be embarrassing IMO, to come this far, beat the teams we've beat only to wash out 0 and 2. Praying they get something going today. Noone wants to be in the position we're in..
Yea I've always heard that those California guys were good at pitching and catching!!!
No offense at all bro, but you have no reason to be embarrassed regardless of the outcome. State has done very well to have gotten there. One thing you have to take into consideration is that UCLA has been there 3 out of the last 4 years. CWS experience is a huge factor!! Some of their players may have been there 3 times. It's obvious they know how to play the new Stadium to their advantage. LSU's last rodeo was Rosenblatt, and they obviously thought that they could roll up to Omaha and hit home runs!! NOT!! If you don't think the experience is huge, look at how steady UCLA has been, that confidence comes from experience at the Big Dance.
It could just be it's their turn, and no matter how hard you fight destiny, it always wins out. They have gotten a lot of breaks, they have executed all the little things well, gotten key base hits. Without one bit of power in the equation.
So in the big scheme of things be proud of the "Dogs" they've done well. And it's not over until the last out!!
