I have the Steiner 25x with MSR. Great glass and excellent tracking. I can't for the life of me tell the difference in glass resolution from my premier 25x and interestingly enough but the body, tube, size, pretty much everything is the same as the premier. I have heard that parts of the Premier are made in Germany.

So here is the question, do these two optics share the same components, glass, etc.. are they the same optic?

if so this is not a bad thing as the Premier has been one if not the best piece of glass I have looked through.

Any comparisons of the steiner to an s&b? haven't came up with anything in the searches comparing them head to head, I would love a scope with the msr but it can only be one so am trying to find the best choice with the best price lol well just found the jasonk write up thru google lol nm

I am certainly not an optics expert. I have run S&B for a number of years. I recently had a chance to pickup a Steiner 5-25 Mil-Dot. So far, I am thoroughly impressed. So much so, I had a chance on 5-25 Steiner MSR version and snatched it up as well.

I'm not sure what the cool kids think of Steiner, but my initial impressions were so positive I just couldn't pass up these two deals.

But in all honestly, I haven't put 1000 rounds under one yet. So I'll let you know in a year or so if they fall apart or not. I suspect not or I wouldn't have purchased.

I like the MTC clicks, and the double-turn ring on the S&B better. But I wonder if that is more just me being "used" to something.

I just can't help but feel that Steiner is undercutting their prices to penetrate the American Market? High-quality German glass at the street prices I'm seeing, Holy Smokes.

But I can only speak on the 5-25's. I hear the lower power optics are made in the USA? Bushnell?

    Steiner Vs. SnB

I wrote one a while back right after using my Steiner and my friends 25x SnB. I actually preferred the Steiner as it did not tunnel at extreme magnification. But looking at the same rocks 500 to 600 yards away I could see equal resolution details and colors. So glass is very equal. My only gripe would be at high mag the Steiner MSR reticle has some little burrs or hairs on the reticle itself. But I really think your going to be on equal footing with the high end Premier, Steiner, SnB. When ever I shoot out past 1000 the extra magnification is necessary for spotting my own hits so great glass is crucial.

The new optic to look at would be the Khales 25x, I hear really good things.

Bottom line best glass I have looked through was actually a Hensholt but not enough magnification for me.

Not sure what the $500 extra for the SnB gets you tho?

I know for a fact that Burris houses (or did until a couple months ago if they happened to move) some of the US operations for Steiner. Not sure if any scopes are there. I might have heard it was the Bino's last time I was up at the Burris plant, but that could be my bad memory too.

From what an inside source told me, the lenses, etc are all still Steiner original, just assembled here in the US.

Steiner are great scopes I have been really happy with the quality and the features. I have been really liking there 3-15x50mm the size and the out put is outstanding.

We stock Steiner Scopes so if we can be of help let us know.

They can be serviced here in the use.

I will be testing out a Steiner 3-15x50mm with the MSR myself.
