I was going to go with the 162 a-max, but I only bought 4 boxes. I'm not sure how long the 162's will be off the shelf, So I'm looking for other options. Thanks guys..

Nortex Sergeant Minuteman Jun 2, 2010 987 158 Texas Jul 20, 2013 #6 Jul 20, 2013 #6 I would go ahead with the 168 Bergers as they are the closest in comparison to the 162's. Another option that offers a decent BC is the 140gr Bergers.

Will get to 1000 just fine...better than a 308 with 175s, but not as nice as the 162s or 168VLDs. For top performance, you'll need the 168vld, or the 175smk - but those are also unobtainium too.

I will try them with 45.0-46.5 H4350, at .005 off the lands in Norma brass. Hopefully I won't need to switch to Varget to get the best velocity. Any advice from anyone who has already tried this would be welcome.
