100.00 difference in side v rear focus

all my other scopes are side focus and mildot

On a fixed power scope, I find rear focus convenient. On the SS it costs $100 less. I believe it also means one less lens overall, which is good for clarity and light transmission, but I'm not certain of that. I have two rear focus SS scopes, the 6x42 and 10x42HD. I see no reason to go side focus when the rear focus SS costs less.

If you decide to get anything but the 10x, side-focus is not offered in the original line of scopes. That being said, if you are left-handed or shoot from your support side at all, the rear focus models will be easier to use. And there are reports of the rear focus being a bit more durable as well.

I haven't played with the rear focus models, but will say I have had side focus versions fail. Of course I'm playing in a sand box and we're far from gentle on them.
