I'm in the market for good glass and I have heard great things about SWFA's products. Can anyone provide a review (based upon actually using one) for the 10x, 12x, or 16x scopes. I know sometimes greater magnification can lead to a lack of clarity, so I'm just trying to see if increasing magnification will be of any benefit. Thanks for your time.

I have the 6x fixed and am very happy with it for the price.

I briefly had a the 16x fixed, which came (somewhat used) with a rifle I bought, but felt that its clarity wasn't up to what you really need at that magnification.

I would probably get the 10x or 12x model unless your only use is load development on bright sunny days.

I have 5 of their scopes and like them all. That being said, my fixed 20X is different from the rest. While the sight picture is "clear"it does get a little weird with eye relief and "ghost ring". You have to be spot on with your set up and cheek weld otherwise the view does get a little obscured. This is a relatively new scope for me and my first 20X fixed but I understand this is common for higher fixed magnifications. My 5-20 is flawless. Plus they just did a really stand up warranty issue for me.

Have used the 10x HD for a few years now and it's a handy scope. Light weight, great picture, good reticle. I can't stand their turrets for a few reasons but other than that, a solid scope.

i have the 10x and have been happy with it. clarity is good, tracks perfectly, and i like the reticle. not to mention the price tag is very fair.

I'll echo the positive comments already posted. I opted for a 12x and am very happy with it. I hope to upgrade to a NF, probably in 2014, but my SS has worked out really well and I don't think you can go wrong with one for the $.

I don't want to write a full review, but I will say that I have a 10x42m and I love it . It is a great entry level scope for precision rifles and handles anything you'd do with a .308. Plus, it is great if you want to just throw it on a 100-800 yard assault rifle.

I picked up one of the $300 20x, so far it is the priciest scope I've ever owned. Colors are a bit dimmer than some of the other stuff I have seen, but I was shooting my little .308 at 1K yds, no troubles. I've never had trouble finding the site picture, but I did spend some time building a cheek piece that fits well.

I give it a big 'ol thumbs up for the money, I am a happy customer.

I also have a 10x, love it, but as a couple of the others have said, the turrets do feel mushy. However, this doesn't really affect my performance. All in all it is a great value for someone just starting out or looking for an inexpensive scope.

Makes me wonder if alot of these folks are talking about the $300 SS Fixed powers or the twice the price HD ones??

I have owned numerous fixed powers in 10X, 16X, and the variable HD 5-20. ALL of the SS scopes are a great value for the funds spent. I just bought another 10X to dedicate it to my wife's hunting rifle, and I will be getting my hands on another for my hunting rifle. So MY particular statement covers the whole SS line. Great scopes, great value, super tough.

I was mainly referencing the fixed power HD scope. I too have the HD 5-20 and really like it. Ive got some rifles to outfit in the near future and dont wana spend a ton on glass. I have the little Midway Weaver on my 10/22 and like it but really like the SWFA products. Sorry OP didnt mean to hi-jack. Carry on.

I've had the 10X MOA/MIL on a CZ 452A .22LR for 3 years and one winter it was on a 30/06 for 900 yard practice. It's had a lot of use and is still good. I'd get the MIL/MIL next time.

I'd prefer a 20X for 1000 yards but not the SS20X. Never looked through one though.

I have the same scope, and I was gonna write the same thing. I will also add that SWFA has great customer service if you should ever need it.
