I found a good deal on a JRC45 carbine and was wondering if anyone here has one, or has experience with one. I had nearly let it go till I found that it can be converted to 1911 mags. Now I believe I'm going to grab it, but I'd like a few opinions first.

I've been wanting to try one out suppressed some day. I have read spotty reports of reliability, can't remember if it's mainly with the other calibers or the .45. I would definitely want one with glock mags, and be able to use factory hi cap ones, myself. Thread the barrel and add a Ti-rant or Osprey suppressor and run good old 230gr fmj.

Don't I wish. No suppressors in IL. This one has the glock mag well now, but for $90 you can order the 1911 conversion. I have a thing for mag sharing between weapons, and I have a 1911, but no glock at the moment. I read there were some early reliability issues that had been worked out, I hope that is correct.

I knew they were kind of odd, but I thought someone here would have an opinion. The thing is pretty neat, uses a lot of AR parts. Trigger group, stock, grip, quad rail, sights, etc. The ejection port and charging handle can be changed from left to right, independently of each other. So you can eject on one side, and charge on the other if you prefer, or both on either side. And converts from glock to 1911 mags as I mentioned. I think I'm going to have to have it.....

I had one in 9mm that took Glock mags.
I no longer own it.
It was pretty un reliable. It never broke but it was constantly having issues. They sent me a new bolt to try as they updated the design but it didn't help at all.
Constant extraction, ejection, and feeding issues. It hated the 33rd Korean mags and only slighty worked better with factory Glock 15 rd mags.

They were brand new when I had mane. Maybe the current offerings are better.

Truthfully I only bought it to share mags with my 19 but the PIA wasn't worth it.

I traded it for a low end DPMS AR that ran perfectly.

I have no experience with the JR carbine, I do have an AR45 carbine from these guys: CNCGUNSMITHING - www.cncguns.com - AR45 History

Mine has a dedicated magazine well so that it will operate with 30 round grease gun magazines. I'm using an Olympic 45 upper to complete the rifle.

I'm sure you will love your carbine assuming it runs smoothly. I think pistol caliber AR-15's are a lot of fun. I also have one in 9mm that gets much more usage since it suppresses so much better than the 45 does. I let my buddy be the guinea pig with an osprey on his 45 upper. After shooting it and hearing how loud it is, I decided I didn't want to bother with suppressing this one.

The 45 allows for cheap shooting fun. Good luck with yours.
