I had some issues with zero shift on the Larue Mounts I was using so I recently switched over to Bobro... I heard great things about them so I figured I would give em a shot. I bought 2 of the extended 30MM mounts and mounted the scopes in them to spec with a calibrated in/lbs torque wrench. One of the setups is fine... The other developed a suuuuuper tight parallax knob. When I took the scope out of the mount, the parrralax was normal again.... I torqued the ring caps to 18 in/lbs on the dot which is right in the middle of their recommended range. Also, I noticed that the mount puts some pretty serious ring marks in the scope.... Not that I give a shit about the cosmetics, but that tells me something is off.... The marks were around the split in the rings, where the cap meets the bottom ring.

Anyone have any recommendations or similar experience??? Do I possible have an out of spec mount???

What scope? Is your torque wrench calibrated and set correctly? Not trying to be insulting, just starting down the list.
I had a hunting Kahles scope once that with Warne rings properly set, the power ring could not be turned. It was just a thin scope with no clearances.

Yesirree. All of our tools and measuring devices are calibrated once a year as a requirement set forth by our quality system. Torque wrench is spot on, its a newly calibrated 10-50 in/lb 1/4" drive wrench. Scope was a brand new Sightron SIII. Im afraid to put it back in the mount, don't really feel like breaking it, its a damn nice piece of glass.

I own 3 Bobro mounts and have installed 3 more. I had one mark up a SWFA scope. I didn't bother the measure the scope to see if it was big, but I may go back now and try to find the problem. I remember when I mounted it that the fit felt a little tight, and noticed it had chewed up the finish when I went to move it in the mount.

Assuming the other scope and mount are working perfectly, put the marked up scope in your other identical mount. If the problem continues, the scope is out of spec. If the problem does not, the mount is.

I'm gonna have to wait on swapping the scopes out, the other mount has a Nightforce 2.5-10 in it that I'm using for a coyote hunt this weekend. Good idea though, I sent an email to Bobro also.
