I'm in need of a variable 24/25x power scope and really don't wanna drop much at all for the gun it's going on. I've been eyeing up the mueller 8.5-25x44 tactical which is under $200 and was wondering what everyone thinks about it who have used it. The scope will be used for mostly 50 yard target shooting with an occasional push to 100 yards.

The mueller is a good scope for under 200 I think it can't he beat. They have clarity to shoot 500y if you have good eyes the reticle is much thinner than you would expect for the price. They seem fairly tough and mueller offers a lifetime warranty. The one complaint I would have is the eye relief isn't great and hard to pick up at high magnification also the clarity falls off on the higher end. I never did box test it but who knows

If the glass is quality enough for 500 yards, then it should be great for my needs! It will be used on a rimfire so going past 100 yards I doubt ill ever do. How well do they hold a zero?

I'm looking at the 8-32x44 A/O with side focus for 250yd and under. I'll be using it on a .30BR, shooting comp with unlimited sighters, so return-to-zero is not so much of an issue. I figure at the shorter distance, there could be some use for the upper magnifications. The reviews seem to imply its exceptionally good for the money.

Current Glass is Weaver T-24, and it's excellent, but might soon have a home on a rifle with longer legs. After the T-24, I could have trouble justifying a $500+ scope to She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed.

Will I hate myself in the morning?

I have a friend that's a rimfire nut, has a bunch of the Ruger 10/22s and they are all tripped out...all those guys swear by the Mueller scopes. There is some rimfire forum that's devoted to all that, should be east to find.

I have a Mueller 4.5-14 I use on a 10/22 and a heavy barreled AR15. No complaints yet, and I probably have about 1500 rounds between the two rifles (half on each). Pretty much just use the mildots on the 10/22 but have dialed quite a bit on the AR out to 500yds. No issues with tracking have been noted.

I have a Mueller 8.5-25x50 Eraticator Riflescope and it tracks fine and hold zero fine on a 17 hmr. Only thing i dont like is the illumination. It has developed what i can best describe as planets all over inside it. Little red dots . They cant be seen with the illumination turned off. It might be dust im not sure. I called customer service and got the run around saying i would have to pay shipping both ways and most likely it was not covered under warranty. I just took the battery out and called it a day. I also had one of those bsa scopes and the erector broke on it. Bsa sent me a new scope no questions asked.

I got the mueller tactical in the mail on Saturday. Scored it for $150 shipped which was the cheapest I could find. The warne rings I have are perfect height pretty much just misses the barrel. Scope isn't mounted yet as I'm waiting for the new stock to arrive which ill pillar/glass bed it soon as it gets here. After all that ill mount the scope and hopefully take it for spin. Having it out of the box and just looking through the glass I can say its def clearer and brighter than the bushnell banner 6-24 I had awhile back. I'll give an update once I get everything together along with some pics :).

I have the same scope you bought. They are very good for what you are wanting. Mine is mounted on a KIDD 10/22 build and it is used for paper punching at 50 to 100 yds. That is all I would consider them good for. Bought mine from Mizzou Mule.

I have an APT it is good for what I am using it for and for what I paid for it.

I bought an 8-32X44 and then I did not use it. I have looked through it and it looks good. I placed it in the optics for sale section last week as I am leaning a different direction.
