I'm considering buying a POF 415 223, this would be my first piston gun. There are now several on the market but several people have told me the POF is the best!! Would appreciate if anybody has experience with these guns or any suggestions, recommendations, or any other general opinions....tks

Try running a search here on the Hide and you'll see lots of info on POF, both positive and negative, and you can weigh your options from there.

I have no qualms about recommending POF's products based on many years of faithful service from both P-415 and P-308 models in a variety of configurations. I have also had nothing but the best service before and after the sale from POF over the years.

I have a POF 308. I have zero problems. I needed a screw for the top rail and POF sent one to me right away. There are some mixed reviews with their current productions. PWS makes some outstanding gas piston ARs. For a precision 308 I would go with POF. For a 5.56 I would go with PWS. Ensure it's the MOD 1 and not the MOD 0 if your buying used.

Guy's I feel like I'm pulling teeth!!!! Why not the 5.56 POF?? What about current production??, current production as of 2014 or do any problems extend back to 2013. I need some info with some substance!!!

I have had 3 POF rifles. My 223 is amazing in everyway. It seems to have real good balance and zero muzzle rise and the best tamed recoil out of all of the AR's I have shot. It's an easy MOA shooter with some Sub-moa groups.

In my experience all POF 415's run well. I've been around too many of their Ar-10s to trust them. I'd run like hell from the AR-10

Fwiw there have been 3 pofs recently purchased that I've seen for my self. 1 has a failure to eject problem been to pof they checked it over and Is still having FTE problems. It was a 308. Mine was a 308 that when received had accuracy problems. Checked it over and every bolt that holds the handguard on were loose enough to turn by my fingers. There is another one in town with accuracy issues its a 6.5 creedmore. And still hasn't been fixed. I've shipped mine down the road. I'm not trying to bash. Just stating what problems we've had.

Thanks TexasMade, I appreciate your input, It sounds like your talking from personnel experience, that's what people need when you ask for opinions here. It's not that I'm looking for only positive's about this gun but when you throw something out there like (their having trouble with current production) I would think if your trying to help you should explain what you mean...

Boonewsm, I appreciate your input but I'm specifically inquiring about the 415 223, not the 308. Have you heard anything about their 223's??

I have both a POF 415 and a P-308. Both have been flawless performers and both are extremely accurate and both have excellent performers. The 415 is one of my favorite and most accurate 556's second only to me Noveske N4 Afghan but has a better trigger. I have never had any problem with it. What others are alluding to when they say you can get a good one or a bad one pertains specifically to the early production P-308's which had some problems. Mostly rte and/or ftf. I haven't heard of any complaints about the 415. There may be some but I haven't heard of any and I frequent a number of boards. I would not hesitate to buy a 415.

Love mine. POF 16" upper MRR-12x on a self built Spikes Tacticle lower, Jerry Miculik muzzle break, Troy Irons and Acog TA33-9. Very Accurate with everything I've ran through it.
