Savage 111 build?

I'm new here and am wondering if there are any savage model 111 build threads already on here for me to read though? I could not find any after searching for a while, sorry if this was posted in the wrong place and thanks for all your help guys!!

Why a 111? You have the action already?

As you know its a long action. Big difference between that and a 110 is its a bottom bolt release knob so if you purchase a new stock keep that in mind.

My 111 hunter was a side bolt release. I've never seen a Savage long action with bottom bolt release.

I have a 110 Savage factory .223 from the factory. Heavy barrel. careful if you are looking for a detachable mag stock, other than a long action caliber. Action and internal mag that is attached to action should fit aftermarket stocks.????

New stock/chassis, criterion prefit from NSS, go gauge and a couple of wrenches and go shoot! That's the beauty of a savage build. Don't skimp on rail and rings.

I have one. Trophy Hunter XPs are bottom bolt release for long action calibers. Pretty terrible combination actually, for aftermarket stocks.

Not sure about threads, the Savage line doesn't get a lot of love around here.

I have a 116 with the bottom bolt release I built into an ELR gun. XLR has a chassis that does the bottom bolt release very well.

I have 300wm and 7/338lapua barrels for it. I went with the CIP magazine well. Accurate makes CIP length AICS pattern mags for the 300wm.

The bottom bolt release version of the accutrigger is noticeably better than the earlier version and I stayed with it. The new one piece firing pin has noticeably less bolt lift, but it needs to be swapped if you want to do a Lapua bolt head conversion.

The guns are probably at their best with diy prefit barrels. I think it's hard to justify the cost for the final result if you go much past that. I do my own work, so it gets turned around for me. Cheaper parts to learn on.
