Anyone have recommended drills for the Cup or any high grade comp? Stuff based on what they've seen in the last few comps they've attended that can be used to hone skills or identify gaps etc?
Another thing. If you're going to the Snipershide Cup, make sure you practice your pistol skills. You never know if you'll need them. There were a few stages at the 2015 cup with pistol targets.
I did not know about the book. Thanks, will look into it. Is the Kindle edition good w.r.t. to pics, graphics? Easier to take that to the range than a book...

One of the things I noticed at the Bushnell Brawl was shooting 1" dots at 60yds. Seems easy but I saw many cards that missed a few easy points. The other was know your limits dot stage. Same 60yds, start with 1" dot, 3/4", 1/2" and then 1/4" dot. If you missed the 1/4" get 0 for the stage so stop at your limit, I saw many and myself only went up to the 1/2" dot as I didn't have confidence for the other 4points
1" was 1 point
3/4 was 2 point
1/2 was 3
1/4 was 4
Another dot stage was on the mouse trap. You had 5 2" shoot & C's at 80 something yards that you had to engage from each position with 3rds, all rounds in the dot were 1 point. Adding fatigue & stress made that rather difficult.

I remember a discussion with Frank in the other board's training section about this. I think from 75yds onwards it's basically the same as your 100yds dope. This is good advice though, to not just know the dope but also what needs to be done to the optic to get a good sight picture at close range. Back in New Holland, PA the favorite of the match directors was to use paintballs within 100yds... Not easy.

It changes drastically once you come back in from 100yds. My dope for 25yds is about 1.9mils, 40yds is .8mils. It makes a big difference, .8mils at 40 if left at 0 would be 1" up, so it if was a 1/4" dot you'd be way off.
Most apps will calculate for this but sometimes need truing cause of scope height.
