I'm currently using a Wiebad velcro cheek pad for the cheekpiece on my AX, and while it is comfortable, it adds a little more thickness than I'd like. Basically, it limits the amount of downward adjustment in the cheekpiece so I can't get it as low as I'd like for free-recoil and positional shooting.

Is there anything out there that you guys use for an adhesive cheek pad? I can get a 1'x1' piece of black moleskin and cut it to shape, but I was wondering if anyone had any other tricks up their sleeve?

    Thanks!

Go to a craft store, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, you get the idea and seek out the self adhesive foam sheets. They're like a buck and work great!

I have used armaflex tape before in a pinch. (armaflex is the insulation you commonly see on your refrigerant piping for air conditioning) 1/8" thick, 2" wide and the adhesive is strong.

    Thanks for the ideas, gents!

I think I will try some adhesive backed moleskin or something like the God'a Grip where I can cut it to fit the cheek piece. The craft store foam looks like it would work as well, but the thought of a tan cheek pad on my sage green AX makes me cringe a little :p
