Let's talk 28 Nosler builds

So this is the only place to call out 28 Nosler experts. This is a simple question hopefully I can get a simple platform answer.


I want to build a 28 Nosler with a Remington 700 receiver. Can I get some education on all the details to do so?

LA or SA...what bolt to use..etc

Any particular reason you want to stick with the Rem 700 action over custom clone actions? What are you planning on using it for?

second this. I have a stiller action, 26" brux barrel, Manners stock, throated for Berger eol 195's by piercision rifles. He builds a bunch of them. Shoots the 195's into ¼" at 100 yds at 3070 fps with Reloader 33. I would talk to him.

He definitely knows how to build a 28 nosler that can shoot.

I've built a few for myself and two of my friends. One savage, one rem 700 and one on a tl3 which is mine. All shoot good, specifically throated for the 195's at cip mag length. On the rem 700, had to do a bit of file work to get the case to fit through the action but other than that, no huge issues.

Using Remington actions I prefer an action that has been cut for a RUM caliber. It seems to have less feeding issues especially if you are going to run a BDL instead of a DBM
