I haven't seen much on this scope, outside of the manufacturers description and specs. Not many reviews out there. The feature set looks great. And I'm looking at the 3-18 for a light weight, medium range deer hunting rifle. One of its biggest perks is the weight, it only weighs 20 ounces. I like the impact 29 reticle as well.

Just looking for opinions on it. Has anyone used it? Like it, don't like it? Better option out there for roughly same price, $2k or less, and weight?

I have not seen the VX-6HD model but I had the VX-6. I liked the scope a lot. I felt optically it was excellent, real easy to get behind and the 3-18 range was great for hunting.

I switched my scopes to FFP being the only reason I don't still have it, but I have contemplated getting another.

if I had one gripe it would be that the turrets didn't feel high end like a NF. However, they put the bullet where it needed to go.

if you're looking 2k or less March would be a good option as well IMO.

I did a bit of side by side comparisons with the vx6hd and a few others, I liked the leupold but I liked the Zeiss Victory HT a little better. The mag range wasn't as good on the Zeiss (3-12 vs 3-18), but overall it seemed like a better scope. Amazingly bright and clear, super light, awesome scope overall.

Now I just want to find a Swarovski z8i 2.3-18 and a TT 3-15 to fondle before I decide which way to go...I hate buying scopes before having a chance to do some side by side comparisons.

I bought the 3-18x50 fire dot duplex for hunting. Glass at low light is better than NXS but not as good as Zeiss Diavari. Level indicater in the fire dot is dead on as I compared it on a plumb line. Turret tracking seems accurate although a little soft. Love the zero stop. Overall I like it in the magnification level that I got especially for the money/quality aspect.

I've got one (3-18 with TMOA reticle) on my .280AI hunting rifle and I love it. Yes, the turrets aren't as crisp as my NXS but they're clean enough and have tracked without issue and the zero stop is great as well. And for my eyes, the glass has been excellent. Image seems to 'pop' much more than in my NXS and is especially noticeable at low light.

I can vouch for the VX6 3-18x50, it does "slightly" better than my Zeiss Diavari in lowlight. To be fair, the Diavari is 12 years old, but both are excellent for hunting. Tracking on my VX6 has been spot on so far.

If the HD models have better glass that would certainly be impressive.
