There was and is no "right to vote" in the Constitution.
So, the 14th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 24th, and 26th amendments don't count?

I was hoping you would go for something simpler, like SikhBob. Like Silent Bob, only...well...different.
They don't grant any right to vote. They do say you can't be denied a right to vote on certain factors. There is a difference.
As far as presidential elections go, the States choose their process for selecting electors. 14A prevents the States from barring some people from voting. BTW, this "right to vote" that existed in the 1800 didn't apply to women and people under 21. How's that work?
So voting in an election is a God given right? And as society changes the meaning of the constitution changes and amendments are ratified to enforce this new meaning? If that's the case, we might as well wipe our ass with it.
Not exactly. Society changes. That's a fact we all must live with. Better or worse, change happens. In the 18th century, the laws of coverture married women had few- if any- legal rights. Single women had a few rights (ownership of property, right to work in "some" fields, etc). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coverture
Likewise, slaves had no rights, and were legally (and constitutionally) only considered 3/5 of a person for census purposes.
However, as society changes, the constitution- as written- remains constant. The evolving society may find parts of the constitution to no longer mesh with the current societal norms. The framers of the constitution had the foresight to make provisions for this in Article V of the Constitution... "The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate."
The Constitution of the United States of America (as originally written by the Framers) is a living document, and this is the magic of it's staying power.
Is this REALLY not taught in school anymore? We need to bring back "Schoolhouse Rock..."

When State legislatures chose electors for President rather than by the people of the State voting were they violating the constitution or did that right not yet live in the constitution?
