Anyone know how to loosen a muzzle brake that has been attached with a bit of Rocksett on standard 1/2x28 threads? I have read soaking it in water, but don't see how the water will get in between the threads and the muzzle brake. It is Rocksett Engineering adhesive.

I’ve never had to do anything special. Just put on a wrench and spin it off.
Rocksett isn’t a super high strength adhesive. It is used because it doesn’t lose strength when it gets hot.

That is some strong schnikes, dang. Soaked for about 18 hours and put the flash hider in the vise and turned it and it started to move and I was like, holy mackerel, finally. Thanks for the suggestion.

I recently had a rocksett muzzle device that had to be soaked and boiled.
I thought the gunsmith was shitting me.

Nope thats the way it's done!
