Someone must have forgot to schedule the crisis actors...
$100 says it was a fake call by one of the anti gun activists as a desperate attempt to call attention to their cause.
Or the shooter rescheduled it without telling all of his accomplices.
Well Northwestern is in Chicago....and aren't the kids on spring break down in Cancun right now?
I try to hit the Amvets thrift store once a month. I look for the old fashioned cast iron pans, I've never been able to get a modern one to work as well. Just check to be sure it is flat, anything else you can boil off recondition or reoil.
Hillary makes one that nothing will stick to and you never have to clean it. It deletes anything left after cooking. She calls it the "skating skillet".
If you can find a Pampered Chef rep. they have some good quality cookware at a reasonable price....wifey has a ton of it in the sandwich makin' room.
Modern Lodge and similar are JUNK compared to the real good stuff.
If you can find a nice old cast iron pan made in the 1940s or before, and it has a glassy smooth finish to the bottom cooking surface, then you will be very happy.
Otherwise get something like these:

They are worth the money. Day 1 they are better than 5 years of trying to get a cheap modern Lodge one to work.
Good cast iron pans should have a mirror smooth finish on the bottom, if it has a slightly rough or pebbled finish, then it's cheap junk & don't waste your time.
True, finding them is the trick.
Mine aren't "classic" been working well though.
Interesting bit of history: George Washington's mother mentioned who should get her's in her will.
