What is your experience with this rifle? Is a good first rifle for the price point to learn the fundamentals? Is it a Ruger Predator 6.5 with upgrades? Does it shoot sub-MOA? Thanks.

I have a RAP 6.5cm and it shoots easily sub-moa with match ammo (Hornady and Prime are the ones I've tested). I've confirmed this multiple times at 100yrds and out to 700 yards. I did a lot of research before purchasing one, and I found that this type of accuracy is very common for these rifles. Many folks on multiple forums and youtube videos report that these rifles shoot very well out of the box.

Is this Go Wild Camo 6.5CM rifle the same gun as RAP 6.5CM? The mags are different. Thanks.

If the go wild edition is anything like the predator or hell even the standard model, for the price they are tack drivers. I’ve shot both the 6.5 and a 3006 in the standard model and they are tack drivers with the right ammo

The Ruger American Predators are accurate out of the box. My sample size of 1 says so. Rough action, tooling marks galore, Tupperware stock, but they can shoot. The new go wild camos and certain models of the predator for 2018 come with AI style magazines instead of the plastic rotary mags (which I am not a big fan of). I have been waiting for Magpul to get off their ass and release the Hunter stock for the Ruger American that they have been promising since last summer.

The Go Wild is just a new model for 2018, looks like a Predator w/ a muzzle break and AI style mag and camo stock. It should be the same barreled action. Also you could look at the new Predator w/ the AI mag, it comes threaded so u can choose an aftermarket break if you don't like the factory one that the GO wild comes with.

Based on what I can tell it's an updated version of the Predator AI. For $100 more you get the camo and a brake. I have a Predator AI and barrel is stated as a 22" medium palma with 5/8"-24 threaded muzzle. They advertise 1 MOA here are a couple of targets I shot with mine.

The group was factory Hornady ammo. Now this rifle had a bolt issue for which Ruger sent me a replacement rifle. This next target is from it and was handloads.

The group on the left is just over .75" but the group center top is just over 1/4". It too had a bolt issue. I just got it back from Ruger and they replaced the bolt and the barrel this time. I haven't had a chance to get it to the range yet as I only got it back yesterday.

At this point in time I will say that the rifles will shoot, it's just a crap shoot as to whether or not the rifle you get will have any quality control issues.

Which type of mag(s) work with the Magpul Hunter stock? Thanks.

Yeah, a 6.5 Predator done that. Regularly.......Prone off a Harris clone bipod. It shot as well in the tupperware, tho. The LSS was just an excuse to get rid of the cheesy plastic stock and crappy factory mags.

The Magpul Hunter uses AI style mags. The magpul AI work great in them of course. I have a hunter 700 and like it so I have been waiting for what seems like forever for Magpul to release the Ruger American Hunter stock so I can ditch the Tupperware and rotary mags and utilize the AI mags. Would be nice if KRG offered their Bravo in the Ruger American series.

My original rifle had an issue with not being able to close the bolt if any upward pressure was applied when trying to chamber a round. I posted about it here.

My replacement rifle had an issue with the machining of the bolt face and I posted about it here.

When I got the replacement rifle back and took it apart for cleaning and inspection I found this inside the bolt.

It also took me some time and work with a set of needle files to remove all the burrs left behind on the exterior of the bolt. They also replaced the barrel for some reason and I don't know how this new barrel shoots because I haven't had it to the range yet. I'm hopeful but won't hold my breath because I also found a void in one of the lands at the chamber end of the barrel.
