Hey my name is Chris. I am from the Lincoln, NE area and getting into the long range game. My college budget hinders me some, but I run a RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor that wears a Athlon Cronus 4.5-29X56 and a Remington 700 SPF in .308 wearing a Nikon Black X1000 4-16X50. I would love to find a 1000 yard range around this area!

I don't think this range goes to 1000 but a guy told me he shoot's 500 yards there. I'm sure there's some place in the wide open spaces of NE. https://engc.us
That range goes to 600 yards, it’s a really nice range and I’ve shot there but unfortunately I can not be a member as I’m not 21 yet.

ah, the under 21 rule. I get it. That is the only place I had heard about that is near Lincoln. Nest time you get to the range I hope you can take some pic's and post them of your BLACK X1000 ? I have 3 and love em. Whacked a hog last weekend in OK at just over 600 yards with my 6.5 cm.

This is when it was on my RPR

Group is at 100 yards. Easter morning I popped a raccoon in the head at 300 yards with it.

That is sweet! Crazy accuracy too! Whacked any coyote's with it. I was pig hunting 2 weeks ago when it quickly escalated into a coyote hunt, big fun. Those 143gr ELD-X bullet's do the job on a coyote/pig.

No yotes yet. I use 130 gr Berger hunting rounds, but I’m trying to develop loads with 143 gr ELDX

Heya Chris,

I'm pretty new to the forum also, and also in Lincoln.

Im sure that you know the following but JIC:
Izaak Walton has a 300 yard range
Eastern Nebraska Gun Club has a 600
The one in GI that Hornady donated to is either 600 or 1k (600 IIRC)

You can try linking up with Heartland Rifle (the civilian part of Tier III Ops) where they have classes on farmer's land going to 1k and one for sure that goes to 1 mile. They have sustainment training sessions where you pay $75 and I believe they MAY spot for you (sorry, I am away from my notes to give you better answers).

I'm in the process of building a 900 yard range across the corner of the pasture on our plot across the border. When I get that up and running (later this summer hopefully) I'll PM you if you'd like.

Welcome aboard!

That would be great! Thank you for the information. I’ll look into the Hornady range in GI.

There is also a range outside of Lexington....the name is escaping me at the moment. They have a 2,000+ yard range, but their price strurcture for membership is really goofy.
