Ok guys I’m posting in the stupid section because...well it sounds stupid but I really have no idea. I’m having my first custom bolt gun built for prs and I wanna get it cerekoted but I got to thinking. If I cerekoted the barrel white or any other bright color would that cause me any problems from glare in my scope? Will be using this out to 1500-2000 yards possibly for fun. Any negative affects to cerekoted g the barrel? Can anyone post pics of how they have had their rifles done up for inspiration?

Here is an interesting consideration when cerakoting a rifle. I was discussing colors/patterns with Chad Dixon at LRI and he asked me if I was ever going to take the rifle to Africa for hunting. I said no not this one (6.5 CM) why? He said if it looks to militaristic, certain African countries will confiscate them, thinking you are bringing in military small arms and not hunting rifles. This is something I never knew. I have some rifles I hunt with that have the appearance of sniper rifles. I wont be taking those with me if I ever get to Africa....

A lot of guys do not cerakote their barrels because we look at them as consumables. Guys who send lots of bullets down range change barrels often and its money saved.

Mine are actually bean blasted....but that's free...glare is a non issue.

Just incase you may want to hunt with the new gun, 50$ diy.
Critters can see ss from a long way off.

Best results, let it dry between 4 coats indoors, then tack free indoors.
After that you can take it outdoors in the uv to harden it faster.

I don't go full on ghillie suit for hunting, but ss shining is a no go.

Bean blasted? Black, white or pinto? Lol
