Possible to zero with magnetospeed?

Looking to get a magnetspeed I realise they change poi. My question is it possible to zero rifle with magnetospeed and mount it in the same spot everytime ie butted up against muzzle brake?

I would like to use it all the time for my field shooting to monitor velocity when shooting steel from prone.

And I cannot afford a labradar.

Thanks

Technically yes you can but I wouldn’t want to run the MS all the time.

I have a heavy Palma 26” barrel and when I put the MS on it drops .5 mil low. So I just dial down from my zero without it and I’m good to go.

My POI shift with my magnetospeed is still within a 1" dot at 100 yards, so I call it good to go.

Removing and reinstalling the magneto for each range trip hasn't had any affect on it's POI shift either.

MK Machining and Wiser Precision both make magneto speed mounts that mount to your rail and extend to the end of the barrel without mounting them directly to the barrel.

You can also treat the magnetospeed as a suppressor and enter the zero shift info into your ballistic software
This. If you want to shoot groups and collect data at the same time this is your only real choice. Do it. It will cut your load development time and cartridge count in half.
The MPA chassis has a Spigot Mount.

I've found that when mounted on a suppressor the POI shift is always the same and extremely minimal. I'm seeing about .1 mil across a few suppressors on several rifles. With my TBAC Ultra 7 it's either straight up .1 or up .1 and left .1 depending on the rifle but it's always consistent on each individual rifle. I make sure I tighten the hell out of it which seems to help.

Mounted to the barrel it's far less predictable it seems which I find odd and the POI shift is usually low. It's normally around .5 mil or so but I can never depend on the shift to be the same on a barrel regardless of how it's indexed or tightened.

Your best bet is to just put it on and send a few rounds at a 100 yard dot to confirm zero. I run mine when I true BC and I do this to confirm regardless of how consistent I believe the POI shift to be.

I would suggest keeping the Magnetospeed away from the muzzle brake. I was pushing it against the backside due to space constraints and found that it caused a very large change in POI. And that was on a 1” diameter barrel which confused the hell out of me. Now I keep it 1/8” away and it has almost no measurable POI change at all. See the high shots in the photo below for example.
