Ruger Hawkeye Action Question

I bought a Ruger Hawkeye as i have several of the M77 MKII's (same action) and love them. However this rifle has been a turd from the get go. The action and bolt were both bead blasted to make for the roughest operating action I have ever seen. I polished the bolt, and ran it about 1000 times to smooth up operation quite a bit, but still ain't grat. I also installed a lighter trigger spring, which made the trigger nice and crisp and right at 2.5# pull weight.

The one last issue I had was after pulling the trigger, the bolt lift is extremely heavy. Even when dry firing, once the trigger is fired the bolt is hard to lift. Is this the result from the lightened trigger spring?

Reason I ask is I called ruger about it and they said send it in and we will work on it. I have never had luck sending a gun back in and always get the run around. Low and behold they call and tell me the trigger has been lightened so this is the cause of heavy bolt lift. Must also be the cause for the sloppy bolt and rough action... Am i crazy, or how would a lighter trigger spring, make it more difficult to cock the bolt and rest the trigger????

At this point I'm thinking its time to cut my looses and trade it off on a tikka.....

I have the Ruger scout (m77 mk2 action) my gun is a little rough too but it's not a custom mausingfield action. The bolt is a little stiff but mine gets loose after i fire the first few of the day. i love the m77 action, its a solid, rugged action and ill be getting the Ruger Hawkeye long range next. I've sent one of my Rugers pistols back to them for warranty work and they did take great care of me. Thats why they are my favorite manufacturer and they get all my money. so by all means if they gun is not working for you send it in.
