In ass backwards land.

I'm pretty surprised by that.
It's one thing for the police and law enforcement to just sit back and let violent mobs take over the streets

But then when they start trying to prosecute victims for trying their best to escape alive while being attacked by the mob that they refuse to do anything about... right near the police station of all things then it's just beyond all reason.

So apparently according to the local law enforcement, if you try to escape from a mob that is violently attacking you and smashing up your car & trying to hurt you, and manage to do so without actually injuring anyone as well... somehow you are the criminal????? I guess the SJW Communist mob now has a "right" to beat and kill anyone they want???

At a certain point in time these "law enforcement" and "police" types will have to pick a side and live with the consequences, because right now it looks like they are choosing to be active supporters of communist mob rule. This "I'm just doing my job following orders" isn't going to cut it for much longer.

I'll bet if it was a conservative mob (if such a thing was to ever exist), the response would be the complete opposite....

About time to tell anybody still playing Lot that it's time to pack up and get out of Sodom so it can be turned into the dead sea.

Some of the provisions within this subchapter, "Protection of Persons," are often referred to as the "stand your ground" laws. This section discusses some circumstances under which a person may use deadly force to defend themselves or others.

  • Texas Penal Code ch. 9, subchapter D
Statutes in this subchapter, "Protection of Property" are sometimes referred to as the "castle doctrine" laws. This section discusses the use of deadly force for the protection of property.

I didn't want to copy the whole thing but this covers most of it.
Please follow the links provided and read them, I have many times,
Then we can have a good argument about them. Lol

I hope that they bring charges, I will gladly contribute to the defense fund. Heller v. DC only spoke to a right to defend oneself in the home, this would be the perfect case to set precedent for a right to defend oneself outside of the home. A SCOTUS ruling to that effect would negate piles of bullshit firearms restrictions nationwide.

Please bring charges

I love that about Texas but unfortunately we are talking about the polar opposite (Portland, OR).

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and ASSuming they are trying to lure out these "victims" in order to charge them with damage of the car at the stop light. Long shot, but I'm always an optimist.

In the military there were provisions that covered what to do if given an illegal order.
Is there nothing in place for a le with common sense?
Someone up the food chain in Portland should be charged, endangerment? Deriliction?

Seattle police- either get with the program or leave the department
Junkies are allowed to live in camps, shoot up where ever- property crimes not enforced

Porkland Police- same thing- city council is whack a doodle
Police are there to be yelled at

You arrested antifa
You hassled a gender neutral person
You failed to stop a street person from raping a person
You hurt street person when arresting them

It’s fucked

We had a drug deal go wrong up the street from me

Buyer and seller parked near bank so buyer could pull out more $$$

Buyer wanted 10 pounds weed
Seller only had 2 pounds

Seller was convicted in Texas of selling 50 pounds of weed- fellony
Seller was on probation and was told- if you want to sell weed- go where it is legal

Seller buys Used gun in Louisiana

Buyer attacks seller- alledegdly
Struggle happens
Buyer is shot in abdomen - exits butthole

Seller- fearing jail- driver buyer to Emercency Room

Seller is found a few days later- arrested with 10 pounds of weed and the firearm

DA does not want to enforce laws
Not a fellon in CA as selling weed would be legal here- so Texas fellony ifnored

Not a fellon in possession of a firearm

Not going to charge them moving to state and not registering gun

It makes no sense

It is, and I don't want to be within a thousand miles of it. Unfortunately it's in the USA, and those are US citizens, so it's not like we can say NFG and write them off. The Feds have to intervene if the government is actively violating people's rights. That's actually why they exist, though you would never know it because they mostly do stuff they aren't allowed to do....

Until last week, I'd never been to Oregon but am working week on-week off out of there for the next month or so. I was fighting off a cold, only thing that keeps my snot factory of a nose dry is real Sudafed, the shit you have to get from behind the counter any more, so after getting back from working all day outside I walk down to the Rite-Aid to get some. The pharmacist there tells me no can do, need a script for that. Huh? Since fucking when? She explains to me OR is among three states where pseudoephedrine is only available via prescription, if I want some I have to cross the river to Washington. I point out to her I walked past two marijuana stores on my way there, so I can get baked as fuck on a whim yet can't take care of a runny nose. She was not amused, and I made sure to not leave any of my money behind.

Backwards? You fucking bet, I'll be glad when this project is closed and will gladly work my twelve hour days in Wyoming blizzards versus having to be in that shithole again. I may be getting snow already, but least we have common sense here...

I would think you guys were pranking me if it weren't on the news.
My ambitions of visiting the northwest are caving, sad.
Do like I did. Get in and immediately get out of the city, do the reverse in the same fashion. The rural area is absolutely beautiful and has great folks. I feel bad for them...

Something to ponder.
In places like Portland wouldn't it be considered SOP to place "like minded" folks in places of authority in LEO.
These are the basics of ideology of the Blue team.
R

You are most likely correct.
I guess it's time to start mapping out areas where the police should be treated as an arm of the local Communist party..
Perhaps some of our resident LEOs here might eventually help put together a map of where you should avoid going or moving into as in those locations you are worse than on your own.

You are totally correct . it Not even remotely resembles any human activity outside of the downtown Portland city . The ANTI FA/ politics only survives there in that political cult and It is pretty nice living out anywhere/Any Direction past 20 or 25 Miles AWAY from Portland city limits .
This 'street disruption show' It's totally isolated, orchestrated with approval of Capitol down south ( Salem OR. ) Portland city politics and LE and then all cooperate to spin info to local media broadcast .

The majority of Oregon populace that see's this wants to puke . This street 'Portland' disruption politics is over the top pathetic, Portland SOoooo want to be relevant in west coast politics like CA./frisco or Seattle, but Salem Oregon 'No Got' the population/budget or the political pull . I don't think Oregon even works into the top 10 States with highest working Union population for any political pull . Hell Oregon does not even figure in the electoral vote equation for political juice .
So this street disruption and orchestrated display you see that burst threw internet youtube and media is all Portland politics with limited mentality and No political juice has got . It's the only way Portland/salem politics can actually be seen by the rest of the US. and presented to Dem. party , so hopefully will get a pat on the back and future party machine candidate funding with possible beltway pork-$$$ scrap.

Out here in small towns west outside of Portland the worst we get for repercussion of Portland political and Salem polices and it's total decay . We get some transient trash that will filter-in by riding (public trans.) West of Portland on Tri-met bus and Max train, to dead-end of the service routs, to dump-out in 'Hillsboro' Max and to end of the line, and 'forest grove' for end of line for Trimet bus service .
Other than transient trash and the mentally ill riding public trans. It all pretty good . But that trash all ends at the end of the public transportation line . then past that it's all gravy and good times living 'anywhere outside' Portland OR.

The driver slowly made a right turn into a crosswalk with pedestrians in the crosswalk. Not in OR. The sign showed WALK, double not in OR. This isn't an incident for us to hang our hat on.

The video in question shows a man in a silver car getting caught up in the protest. Apparently fearing for his safety, the man starts to drive through the protest. One genius decides he’s going to jump in front of the car and try to stop it, as other members of the mob converge on the car, shouting obscenities at the driver and beating on his car. The driver eventually made it through, but stopped at the red light up the block. There, the protesters chased him down, smashed a window out in his car, and started threatening him. (From the article)

ANTIFA and BLM, in Portland, are trying to provoke someone from the other side into a violent action. Before one of their "counter-demonstrations" they suggested that their demonstrators should bring guns. I'm sure they also directed the activists that if one of theirs were armed and got shot that they should immediately remove his/her firearm from the area. Unfortunately these people are not stupid but they are certainly capable of mistakes and in the near time they will make one. Better them than us and it will be on video. For it to be otherwise would be a strategic mistake.

Most here are probably familiar with the video showing the knockout punch at the rally and counter-demonsrtation between the Proud Boys and ANTIFA. This is an article from Willamette Week https://www.wweek.com/news/courts/2...s-test-the-limits-of-free-speech-in-portland/ Somehow, it doesn't seem to describe the event as viewed by millions on video. The ANTIFA guy, who is masked, first attacks a guy on the ground with a staff or baton. He then attacks the guy that subsequently cold cocks him. That was a bad decision. The Police then detain the unarmed man and take him downtown. People show up with videos of the altercation and the man is released. Never a word published about charging the guy with a weapon who clearly assaulted two people. As he had to be hospitalized, he was easy to find. https://americanmilitarynews.com/2018/07/antifa-attacker-with-club-gets-knocked-out-by-unarmed-man/

AJ, I've read your posts for quite sometime without comment but my experience with LE does not reflect your position. I'm old and I've had a carry permit for over forty years. I have had numerous contacts with LE from traffic stops, to trespass reporting, to illegal hunting, to poaching, to theft. I have been treated courteously, if not in some cases cautiously, in all cases but one. That one case was of course in Portland.

Softcock's post is generally correct with the exception of the phrase "The majority of Oregon populace that see's this wants to puke." The majority of Oregon's populace lives in the I-5 corridor and they are the left that is reflected in Oregon's policies and laws.

The ' majority ' of Oregon are all the same people but with different political views . I also believe the majority all know right from wrong . The disgusting social behavior with the street walking, aggressive micro minority fringe is not normal. It is newfound, manufactured/organized rage group behavior. So it is impossible for it to be the majority .
