USO posted this on the gram, looks interesting.

Why the 2/10th deviation on the vertical between 4 and 6 but only 1/2 Mil increments the rest of the way? Is that due to say the average number of hold over stages within that hold? Why the finer detail on that section of the vertical i guess is what i'm asking?
I was wondering the same thing.

He was low on ink ....

Guys miss the fact the farther out you shoot the more precise you need to be and holding is imprecise to begin with.

Targets get smaller and the need to subtend a finer hold is necessary

Just more of the same, only different, but the same, cause we dont' want to infringe on any patents

The open spaces are welcome vs the reticles that try to clutter everything up tight to the center crosshairs, that close to the main line needs to be open so you can see what is actually going on.

That is .1 tenth marks for reticle ranging.

Spot on about the open spaces. We need to be able to watch the bullet fly!

Funny a guy is on FB with early drawings, apparently the basic designed was shared then lifted for lack of a better word.

It’s very similar just slightly different, I guess the request to name it was overlooked, lol

Except that reticle has quite a few differences from this one.

Like you said though, there are so many, they are all close to the same.

You can say there are small differences which there are, but the big similarities are hard to overlook.

The main fact is, the original design was specifically sent to Jake prior to this, so there is a paper trail which leads back to the complaint.

Not making a judgment, and I agree with the changes from the original images, but still there is a connection that was ignored. I like this one better over the original and the original was pieces of a lot of different reticles lumped together as most people do when designing this stuff.

Fun Fact, I drew the very first MOA reticle USO used when I used to hang with them in the early years. Several of my reticle designs are still floating around in one form or another. I was just never bold enough to ask people to pay me for them, so there is never an issue when you give the ideas away.

reticles are the defining point of interaction with a lot of scopes, so reticles have become big business.

Ill take it minus the tree please!!! Too much shit still in the way.

Nah, the tree is dang near perfect! Maybe you're looking for the original GAP reticle? (Friendly jab, FYI, I'm in the process of working out a deal for an SN3 w/ GAP. It's nice to have a super clean and simple reticle in the safe sometimes!)

I have a lr17 with the gap and a er25 with mpr. It isnt bad. I like an open reticle to see my millions of misses I have?lol. I'd like a open center dot and a .2 wind holds and that's it!! I rarely hold unless its required for stage or no time to dial. I never understood why there is like 6 or 10 mils for holds on the lower section of the trees. With so many people shooting 6mm and 6.5mm these days when are you going to hold that much? Plus if you have to hold 8 or 9 mils of elevation your taking a shot at quite a distance and 99% of the time the elevation will be dialed at that distance. I m just saying I dont see the point in having the fov cluttered up with shit that wont be used but once in a blue moon.

What the Pro's in the PRS and NRL use when surveyed by Cal Zant.

Simple answer, because that’s not the “cool” thing currently.

I’m with you. The less clutter, the better.

Mayb someone from USO can comment if they will offer a retrofit to previous owners

How old? Maybe current scopes but i know they wont on older models because i've asked on occasion if they would change my SN-3 reticle.

I'm glad USO finally got a decent reticle though, just need to drop their form factor some. Or maybe just redesign that softball bat. I know aesthetics are meaningless but it's one fugly optic in my eyes. I was hoping they would actually get the Oneil Ops hunting reticle in the B-17 also.

I have a new b17 that I wish this reticle came out before I bought this one.. Went with the h102 and wish I didn't. Thought I was going to use it on a hunting rifle and that didn't materialize. Got to see what the cost is going to be to swap it. Thinking it won't be cheap.
