I have tried quite a few different grips and still haven’t found the one I love. My current favorite is the magpul Miad but was looking at the larue A-peg and also the hyperfire grip.

I currently have a magpul Miad, magpul moe+, standard ergo, bcm mod 1, and Daniel defense.
I wear a xl or xxl glove and struggle with proper trigger placement. My finger usually lands between the last and middle joint. I want a grip that is longer front to back or maybe a bit wider. How does the larue Apeg and hyperfire compare to the Miad?

I have the largest back strap. It works but I think I would like bigger. The Miad is comfortable and I will buy more if there is nothing better. Just saw the larue and hyperfire and it looks like they might be bigger but very hard to tell online

Have you tried the ERGO tactical deluxe grips? If you've got big mitts, these are awesome. Hell, I wear a size medium glove and still really like how full these grips are compared to everything else out there.

I like my LaRue a-pegs (PITA to install) but I prefer the soft rubber of the ergo to the hard plastic of the larue. I will say that the larue grips better in cold and wet conditions with bare hands, but if wearing gloves I haven't noticed a difference.

How big is the larue compared to the tactical deluxe?

Not sure how well this will come across since it's only cross sectional width as opposed to true circumference... The ergo feels MUCH larger in hand...

I use the ergo tactical deluxe and sierra industries precision rifle grip. I bought the larue and absolutely hated it. It seemed to push my hand way too high and felt uncomfortable between the web of my hand. I filed so much trying to make it work that I about filed a hole in it. I've tried tons of grips and the ergo deluxe while not perfect is my favorite thus far. I like the look of hyperfire though. Might look at a pistol grip sleeve by hogue. I put one on my aiax and it now is one of my favorite grips. And I hated the standard aiax pistol grip.

Recently installed the Larue grip on my Colt LE6920, it feels decent wasn’t a difficult install, but I have yet to run it through its paces. I’ve used a Magpul Miad for quite sometime, and really like it a lot. I also have an SPR I pieced together and I used a JP Hogue on that build and man I really do like that grip a lot.

Skate tape?
I got a medium 9 1/2 -10 hand, but fingers are longer than most.
It's awkward to get finger out of trigger or not have a grip too large.

Heres a couple more comparison's. Ergo tactical large, on 308, and small on 15's. Hogue grip is wifes, small but feels good . And yes it comes in black.

Was the back strap add ons not big enough? The Miad is my go to grip as well.

No shit, I have 'em on almost all rifles that aren't short SBR's in which case I like the straighter K grips. I have long fingers and it's the only way to get a decent trigger pull. That they FINALLY started putting oil bottles in 'em is nice too.

An old trick they used to do was to knead epoxy and wrap that around a regular AR grip and then hold it, imprinting your hand into it, then smooth the rest out, dimple or texture it or whatever. When it dries, it's permanent. You can use that to custom make any size grip. Worth knowing if nothing else, and it can't hurt to try out, I'm sure you have plenty of A2 grips laying around like I do. Cheap option that works and finished it may even look pretty cool. Nothing will fit your hand better. You can use a grip other than an A2 if it suits you better.

They used to make custom grips molded off your hand and done something like this but I haven't heard of it in forever. One type you boiled at home like a mouth guard and then held until it cooled leaving a perfect imprint of your hand on the grip.

I went to a local shop yesterday to pick up some stuff and they had an AR with the ergo deluxe. I tried it and it felt pretty good but not far enough back and I think I prefer the miad. I think I might just stop trying and switch to the Miad. I like the idea of the epoxy putty, I might give that a try on a old grip, if it turns out decent I might try extending the Miads a bit.

I have big ol dickbeaters and I like the Stark One Grip . It feels bigger than it looks, wait...when have I said that before..

I have been curious about this one, like you said they don’t look very big in pictures. My biggest issue is not how fat the grip is but how far back it moves your hand from the trigger. Could you get a measurement from the rear trigger pin to the back of the grip?

Sure, i'm at work right now but I can measure and get back too you later this evening.

I tried magpuls, ergo, and hogue. Im running a hogue but purchased a timney calvin elite ar trigger and have to trigger all the way forward. Now its perfect. Just not a cheap option.
