Indeed, but an interesting fella... It seemed he wasn't really into the whole Nazi thing, but he DID want the resources Hitler could provide and therefor developed long range rockets V1 and V2 (maybe V3, dont remember) so he could get funded for his own project, which was to travel to the moon.

I believe after Von Braun moved to the US he became a fairly devout Christian. He had gone to a church in the US, cynically thinking that the people there were not practicing what they preached, but was surprised at how genuine and devoted the congregation was.
They really have kept the lid on this, or, it doesn't fit the narrative so the media ignores it.
Except metric system is only one used in space programs ,including landing on the moon.
