Welcome. Sounds like you're from the Bay Area..
Anyway, there are a few of us on the HIde shooting at the Avenal Gun Club really close to the Coalinga Range. You can always try to hook up with one of the members, attend a clinic or tryout out one of our monthly matches. It is a much more dynamic range than Coalinga..

Edited to add: We have a lot of long range positional shooting events within driving distances in CA. Just to name a few of the steel [positional matches, Avenal, Tehama, Folsom (generally shorter range on the silhouette range), Calnev, SLO(coming soon), Camp Pendleton, SDPRC. And if you live in the Bay Area you have BLM and the choice of 3 1000yard ranges within about a 3 hour drive

Thank you for the welcome and the info Diver! I am indeed from the Bay Area, Sonoma County to be more precise. I will definitely check out Avenal.
Hit me up when you think your interested.. From Sonoma you really have a drive, but if your willing to meet out early midweek sometime, I can open the gate. Generally we'd be the only ones at the range midweek.

Scott I am definitely interested, I shot down there with @Diver160651, great place to try my first match!
I hope to get out next week Spartan is spinning up 4 barrels now. Not sure when I’ll get them back. Hoping early next week.
I have a match next weekend, so getting out mid next week would be ideal for me to at least give one barrel a quick zero and 500m drop confirmation.
