I'm trying to get a precision rifle put together for my wife who is 5' tall and my son who is turning 5 this month. Is there a chassis out there that is adjustable enough that would accommodate a young child's length of pull as well as enough adjustment to fit a small lady? I'm not sure if something like that exists, but R700/clone footprint would be preferable.

The Manners MCS-CS might work?

I have a KRG X-Ray on my Tikka. I dont know what the length of pull is, but I have over 2 inches of spacers on the butt plate to get it to fit me correctly, which makes me think the LOP is rather short. Might be worth looking at.

Craig at PDC Custom has done chassis systems for shorter-statured shooters before. I'm sure he could set you up with something that would work for both of them, and grow with your 5 year old as he gets bigger. Craig also does a shorter reach from the grip to the trigger, and a shorter grip, which makes a BIG difference for shooters with smaller hands, and it's a detail often overlooked by other 'youth' type chassis systems.

Our chassis systems have been renowned for their ability to fit anyone who gets behind them! The LOP adjustment on our buttstocks is unmatched, and all of our systems are fit for Rem 700 SA & LA in both right and left hand.

But don't just take our word for it, here are a couple of articles & reviews regarding fitment and adjustability for shooters of all sizes. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!

The lop on a Remington 700 can only go so low until the bolt hits the cheek riser. A mdt chassis with a standard buffer tub will get you down around 11.5 inches. The nice thing about the ar buffer tube type lop adjustment is the quickness of the adjustment. If you do not have the rifle yet a Ruger precision in 223 might be the way to go if your on a budget.

Not trying to be smart or anything but, for first hand info ask Lowlight what he recommends.
