Filed my Eform 1 on a trust on 2/3/19 and was approved today 2/20/19

Times are even quicker than before the shutdown and apparently no backlog? Was told 45-60 days before shutdown and expected that to almost double with the shutdown but not so.

Figured I'd let yall know incase you were thinking of submitting but wondering about wait time also.

what caused this change? it's been a couple of years since my last SBR, but that one took over 10 months.
I've been thinking about a 6.8spc, 6.5gren, or 308 SBR for a while, I might move on that (both of my SBRs are 9mm)

My last F1 was a six day turn which blew my mind. I think having everything already digital (minus the prints) speeds up the process tremendously as most everything is in one package and payment is linked.

I'm ignorant on SBR's, I have a few cans and understand that process pretty well. I thought that for SBR's, the process was basically the same as cans. What is the difference in filing for an SBR? What is the process for getting a stamp for an SBR?

Not much if you are doing it as a form 1. Just some different verbiage and drop down boxes on the efile form.

Paper Form 1 is pretty much the same as Form 4 for a can. Except it's about 4 months.
Went this route for my first SBR and went through Silencer Shop. Just needed an over all measurement for the completed rifle and rifle make, model, and serial number.
Once the form comes back you get the lower engraved with name, city, and state and optionally caliber.

E File Form 1 done online. Minus prints I guess, they get mailed? Waiting for a Radian lower to give it a try.
E-File takes as little as two weeks.

The rifle overall measurement, is that with stock fully extended or collapsed?

Stock extended. I had barrel and reciever already so getting measurement was not a problem.
Can also do a little math if you don't. Just measure a regular 16" barreled rifle. Then subtract whatever your SBR barrel is from 16". Then take that number and remove it from your first measurement.
So if your rifle is 35" crown to buttstock, and your SBR barrel is 10". Your going to be 6" shorter so your over all length is a 29" SBR from crown to the farthest part of your buttstock. That should get you pretty close.
