So I picked up a HOWA 6.5 Grendel heavy barreled receiver to build. Less than $400. Anyone use these HOWA BARRELED actions from Brownells and if so how was the accuracy... was going to put it on an MDT chassis....

I have three of them, but the only one that still has the factory barrel is a 7.62x39, which I absolutely love. Accuracy is around 1 MOA with hand loads, but that's also without much in the way of load development.

In any event, there are plenty of threads in this forum on Howa builds, and a lot of folks are seeing 1/2 MOA or better.

Depending on the caliber, it seems most of these Howas are between 1/2 to 1 MOA with hand loads. Good guns and can be dialed in pretty well.

I picked up the same barreled action as the OP for my daughter. It's a fun little rifle to shoot and I probably shoot it more than she does. We glass bed and installed it in the Boyd's AT-One stock. I have had good results shooting factory Hornady Black 123 ELD-M. I would say it averages around .75 MOA. For it's intended purpose of plinking at the range and whitetail deer hunting it has done exceptionally well. The biggest shortcoming with the mini action in general is the plastic detachable mag system. I hate it. Your MDT chassis should take care of that issue though.
