Serious Question - does casual exposure to fiberglass - say crawling through an attic have the same potential for cancer/ jack up lungs as asbestos?

There are significant differences between Fiberglass and Asbestos exposures. No, casual exposure to FG is not the same, even long term exposure to FG is not the same. Asbestos fibers have characteristics that are very different to FG. Getting health and safety or industrial hygene information from a firearms forum is kind of like getting firearms information from a CNN article.

Actually with the cloud cover and the fast pan of the video, it's the west face, above Eigergletscher. But, at Kleine Sheidegg station, you're sitting almost right at the base of the Nordwand/Northface. Just take the train up, you won't miss it, it's right there.
It is quite stunning, I highly recommend it (before our Memorial Day/after our Labor Day). Many of the hotels & restaurants close down between the end of September & the first week of November. Many of the hospitality industry workers are foreign (Italian, Hungarians, Poles, etc) and they go home to visit their families. 5 months on, 1 month off....
But, the good news is that the crowds are thin. Middle of summer ? No Way
No.... it's dose response relationship..... exposure x time. For peace of mind buy a box of disposable dust masks (3M 8710 or similar) and wear one when around fiberglass. On the box look for the approval NIOSH and N95 efficiency.
I don’t know if it’s the same as, but anything that goes to your lungs, stays in your lungs. Fiberglass strands will be with you forever. Carbon fiber... that’s scary stuff if not treated with respect.

Keep in mind that dust masks are made to be used by people without beards. A beard prevents a good seal from forming between the mask and face.
Only time I ever saw one of these was at MOL Oil HQ in Budapest just after Hungary got out the USSR

Very cool, have never seen one inside of a hotel/office building (if that's where it actually is). We used to have them in the parking garages here in Seattle. They scared the shit out of me when I was a little kid. I watched, learned and tried one for the first time. Not bad, but you did want to pay attention. I'm sure there are none around anymore. Too many idiots that would decapitate themselves in short order these days.
Neither of the above statements is true. I'm not saying don't take precautions, but if you are going to work with something that is an industrial hygiene hazard get information from someone who is actually qualified, not from an internet BB that is dedicated to a completely non-related topic (Note: N95s are not quite worthless, but in the real world they are close)
Really? Maybe you can link the actual source then. Same as silica being labeled a carcinogen. It gets in your lungs and stays there. Over time it reacts to your body and turns to cancer. Don’t just throw doubt on it, link to the facts please. The only way I know of to remove any foreign object from your lungs isn’t nearly as pleasant as protecting them in the first place.
