I like the battery powered RMR and the larger dot 6 to 8 MOA as its easier to find

It took me several days of practice to pick up the sights and red dot quickly.... At first it was slower for me.... especially up close where you don't need sights to keep rounds on paper 5-10

At 15 yards + the ability, with older eyes, to keep everything in the head shot box is great


The RMR does not make up for any lack of skill.... It does help with aging eyes... in my book

I like the RMR, too, and recommended it to the last person who asked about reflex sights for a hunting sidearm. Aaron at Sage Dynamics did a longterm study on their viability for law enforcement use and has a bunch of very informative videos about pistol mounted MRDS on his youtube. His findings were that only the RMRs held up to any significant round count (multiple thousands), the caveat is that his testing did include a direct drop onto concrete with the optic down every 500 rounds. I'm looking into getting one myself this year and the biggest con I see people talk about the RMR is the optical quality. That's the biggest benefit I've read about the Deltpoint is that its real glass and clear. As mentioned there is a learning curve, but there are videos such as Aaron's available that are very informative. From my understanding the questions for you would be how much you plan on shooting it, how rough are you with your gear, do you want it to be crystal clear.

There is a company that is renting out slides with RMRs on them. It isn't cheap at $200 for a week, but $150 gets applied to an optic if you buy from them within a month. They're local to me so I'm going to go in and check them out when I'm ready. Unfortunately none of my friends wanted to be the first guinea pig on this, so this seems to be the only way to try before we buy.
