Congrats to Tiger Woods...

LIVED for Golf for a number of years. Literally was possessed by it, ask my wife. When I was in the PI I was sponsored by a number of Japanese businessmen our factory was associated with. Tried with all I had to get my card for Asian Tour. Was a kick in the ass, because like shooting, it's all you. Loved it. But there's a reason the Pro's are Pro's. I've played with a few overseas and it's humbling seeing what a day in and day out scratch golfer does compared to the occasional scratch golfer. When your best day doesn't compare to their off day it's time to sit down and let those gifted gentlemen do what they do. Couldn't be happier for Tiger. He's been thru self induced hell and hopefully getting back on track to continue his destiny!

You know, as much as I could not give two shits about anything golf, and even less for Tiger, you make some excellent points.

I agree on the congratulations to Tiger. I saw him as a tiny boy on TV and when he started his rise in the college and amateur ranks I knew I would follow his career.
I watched his rise, his ride at the top and his fall from grace.
His surgeries to repair busted knees and also multiple back surgeries held him down.
The last fusion surgery of L4-L5 was make or break for him.
Like a true champion, he never gave up.
As he began to crawl his way back up, I had big hopes he would do well.
Today was a culmination of hard work, pride in oneself and pure determination.

Fuck yeah Tiger, keep on the hunt!

The thing I have heard is that he finally re-tooled his game to take the stress off his body and get better using what he has left instead of trying to hit the long ball.

I think redemption comes when you are self aware and change your ways.

It sounds like Tiger may have redeemed himself.

The bad behavior he's been guilty of is pretty mild in comparison to most other professional athletes. I believe he was only caught and shamed for it because he was living under a microscope and he got married before he was through trying to be a player.

I'm happy for him.

Don't have anything against the guy but the coverage of him when he was in 25th place
while the "new" guys were mildly mentioned that lead finished my PGA viewing.

Yeah, but that guy that was in 25th place before he got his back straightened out and his head out of his ass, had completely changed the game of golf, leading courses to have to redesign themselves in an attempt to "Tiger Proof" them. Tiger Woods is to golf what Pete Rose and Babe Ruth were to baseball, Michael Jordan was to basketball, Dale Earnhart was to racing and Carlos Hathcock was to shooting people from long ranges.

Generally, i couldnt care less.

Saw a clip recently of a guy standing with tiger’s mug shot on a t shirt as tiger walked out past him....tiger looked right at the guy and smiled warmly. In that moment, i wanted good things for tiger. He looked at himself and had a good laugh. God bless him; and everyone who is able to look at themselves and laugh. We all need to be able to be that humble.

I don't play golf but I do follow it occasionally.
I grew up by a golf course that was the first "Designed and Built" by a black man named William Powell.
The course, Clearview Golf course.
Here's a man, that struggled in 1946 to build his dream against the odds being stacked against him.
The man gave me my first summer job and at the time a lesson in humanity, something that I undoubtedly needed.
People from the area were cruel to Mr. Powell and wanted to see him fail.
Something I can say about the man, there wasn't any white people in the area that had a sack like him.
Somthing I can truly say that I learned about golf, it's all on you.
Tiger,congratulations.

We’re fortunate to be able to witness the careers of some of the greatest athletes of all time. Tiger, Mike Trout, The Williams sisters, Tom Brady, Bo Jackson, Hell, I’m old enough to have watched Muhammed Ali ! Out of all these great athletes, no one has changed their perspective sport more than Tiger. The purses increased, viewership doubles when he plays, courses redesigned to make other golfers able to compete with Tiger. The Masters is one of them! Nutrition and fitness are now extremely important parts of most golfers games. All this because of Tiger. And he’s proved he’s human, he has frailties just like us! After 3 or 4 back surgeries, personal problems and Father Time creeping up, he is back on top! Kudos Tiger!
