On a serious note... if you dig deeper, this is probably part of the same bigger pattern of attacks to destroy American institutions... Scouting, Football, Harley-Davidson, the Nuclear Family, Churches and freedom of worship, education, understanding of history .... the things that grow leaders, thinkers and good citizen.
This is not about getting the pedo's... this is about destroying the BSA. If they were about getting the predators, they would be arresting and charging them. In this case, they are suing the BSA for their bank account and to destroy their image.
Big difference between prosecuting heinous crimes against children... and using a law firm to rob the BSA bank account and destroy the institution at the same time.

Honestly, on the law firms part, its about the check they will earn. They typically get about 30-40% of any settlement. When youre talking a $100 million lawsuit, thats not cabbage.
I got molested by a faggot when I was a kid but Iwas older so I dealt with it w/o too much shit. He was found dead in his garage with a hose to the tail pipe. Interestingly enough, not many people knew, but he also had a large bruise behind his ear.
For the record, I had nothing to do with his death. Apparently he got a bunch of the local kids and some of the fathers took care of business. This was over 50 years ago and I dont remember much other than that.
I just dont remember it being this prevalent...maybe it was just covered up and its taking a bit of loosening of the old fears for people to come forward.

That Swift piece has been around a while. It was written as satire poking fun and those convinced a highly coordinated gay agenda actually was a thing of significance. Some weren't sharp enough to see it as the joke it was.
All that aside, adults taking advance of kids is horrible and happens in every corner of society - more so in places with ties to religious organizations. The Pope's crew doesn't have a corner on it by any means. Sad they're going after the single source of deep pockets at the BSA rather than the local organizations (mostly churches) where these abusers hide out.

My son was a part of Boy Scouts last year. Then it became “Scouts.” I had already been on the fence because of the decay in the original values and it’s willingness to bend to whatever way the current political breeze was blowing.
We pulled him out in favor of other activities that more aligned with the values we thought a child should be influenced by.
Recently the Scout Master made a post on the troop Facebook page about how he is getting out because attendance was so bad and membership had dropped off. He blamed parents and their lax attitude as well as other activities taking precedence over scouts.
I really had to bite my tongue not to post back that the troop he started with 25 years ago was not the same type of troop today. And the kind of Dads that want their kids to grow up with scouting like they did may not cotton much to the raging liberal organization its become today.

I was referring to your post, and it did seem to me that you were inferring that you did it as you stated knowledge of the bruise "known to few." While he may have earned his fate, I am glad that you are not the one to have implemented it.
When I was a kid my dad and uncles agreed that there was something "off" about the local scout master thus neither my cousins nor I were offered the opportunity to go camping with the scouts. We were allowed to camp any where we could walk to anytime we wanted. By the time we were teenagers we were allowed to pack beer along with our other food. There were never any adults along, though we were expected not to have problems or to make problems for others.
If it were up to me merit badges should be given out if you were able to remove a person who preyed on children. Natural respiratory pause in your respiratory cycle as you feel the wall ....... Break.......... Pack up and go have a celebratory beer.

It's been a drumbeat for more than a year... local dealer (who is a great friend of mine) can't post anything on his FB site without getting 100 bot-looking attacks for everything. P.S. Yeah, it is a PITA that older bikes are not supported. And by older.. that's like 2001! But that's a corporate policy and I think a stupid one. But most 'mechanics' today can't deal with carbs, points, timing lights... they just replace computers. I can feel for dealers who can barely hire parts-replacers. But the idea of finding people who could time a bike, tune an S&S or Linkert.... rebuild a Bendix. Well... good luck. So I can see both sides of it. But, yes, they should at least try.
