All the talk

As a child of 3, 4, 5..., I was tutored in music by my three maiden Aunts. Educated, cultured, and connected; they brought to me more than the average learning experiences. This meant, among other things, many trips to see the New York Philharmonic.

Bolero. Yes, oh yes!

Then;

and:

How many of us can recall hearing all our our music on 78rpm monaural records?

And later, on my own:

And more;

No music except classical, symphonic music was allowed in our home until I was well into my teens. It was all the music I had, and all I needed.

Thank you immensely for bringing my thoughts and joy back 70 years to a simpler, and for more beautiful place and time.

PS, And then, of course, in 1964;

And of course no Classical music repertoire would be complete w/o perhaps the greatest or all. Not the defining performance, but one of the most rewarding. The looks n the kids faces....

Good story, I had something similar happen at the gym at UVA except she had nothing on under her gym shorts.
The Orff is a bit strange for my tastes. Ray Manzerak of the doors did a version of it thats interesting.

Carl Orff dreamed of being the Third Reichs composer over Wagner.

First I heard that cut was in an old movie about King Arthur (80s, Excalibur I think the title) in a scene where he rallies his Kingdom to fight a battle and as he charges with the KOTRT to fight all that is dead in the Kingdom comes back to life.

I thought that cool and its stuck with me.

Maggot,

You made an old man cry today, and he thanks you. It is a wonder to know one can still have such moments at this age.

...And yes, I had seen it before; but its reappearance today was fortuitous.
