Rifle Scopes Athlon Chronus 4.5-29 on 6.5CM 20" AR10 do I need 20 moa or 0?

First, I have gone through the stickies, and have done a ton of searches here on the hide for this, but cannot find info that applies directly. Apologies in advance if I'm asking to go over well trodden ground.

I just got an Athlon Chronus 4.5-29 (paid $650 w/NF ultralight rings and vortex level, all used, but the glass is AMAZING)

It's going on a POF 6.5CM 20" AR10...the NF rings are 1" and the front of the scope is hard on the rail, so I have to get something different.

My local range goes to 500, but within about an hours drive, I can shoot out to 1200 yards or so. Eventually, I plan on participating in at least a few PRS gas gun matches with it.

So do I need 20 moa or 0? If I do need 20 MOA, does that change the ring/mount height I'll need?

If ya'll say 0 moa, I'm planning on ordering these rings or ARCs in the 1.25" height, if you say 20 moa, then I really have no idea as there are SO many good options.

Just get some Vortex PMR 1.25" rings. It's what I run on my 6.5cm AR10 and they are great

1" are way to low to clear a handguard on an AR

For any AR platform, I would go normally ~1.5" height, but the top rail on your rifle is taller than standard, so 1.25" will probably be fine. You're probably going to be fine with a 0MOA mount, but honestly there's no reason I can think of to NOT get a 20MOA mount. I'd look at Badger or Seekins for a one piece 20MOA mount.

As the cronus has lots of adjustment range, like has been said, youll probably do just fine with either the 0 degree mount but 20 wont hurt anything, only help. I wouldnt fret going with either.

Usually 1200 yards in competition. Sometimes to a mile. 30 moa gives 24.4 mil of adjustment for my rifle.
