Never been much into shotguns but recently picked up a Marine Magnum. I compared it to the Mossberg and the Remmy just felt more solid. I went with the Marine because I can be sloppy and dont want any chance of rust. So far I love it but have only shot 2 3/4 inch birdshot shells a buddy gave me. Im not int trap shooting this thing will be for defense, likely carried in my truck when traveling and in the closet by the bed when at home. Suggestions for cartridges would be appreciated.

Any copper plated led or nickel plated. Makes it through “stuff” before it starts deforming . Shooting stuff through stuff happens . Preferably high brass 2 3/4 00 buck. I would use federal,
Fiocchi or Hornady . People have survived being shot with shotguns from windows in houses or vehicles softening the blow. So a heavier shot with the copper or nickel plating is critical to me. If you have ever shot glass, drywall, or vehicles with lighter led shot it’s almost pathetic the out come. Go heavy and plated. Pattern it for the longest distance in you’re house. Most shots in a house are going to group around the size of a softball so keep in mind you can still miss. Also we have habits of using shotguns like we do when we bird hunt. Something in you’re house is close enough you won’t need to lead. Sorry for the extra stuff.

    Federal Flitecontrol for buckshot.
Whatever Federal/Winchester/Remington reduced/managed recoil 1 oz. lead slug that you can find on sale.

Federal 00 buck should work, and Fiochhi offers a reduced recoil 00 buck load as well.

Cylinder bore barrel come standard? If so, could try some foster style slugs as well.

while I was googling the Foster Slugs I found these Super Dragons Breath. I do believe this would discourage anyone. Skip to 4:20
