It's less about the countries involved and more about the religion. Think Sunni vs Shia.
Remember that Persians are not Arabs... long time hatreds still exist.
That said, I think that the Arabs would simply look for opportunities for themselves regardless of who would otherwise benefit (Iran vs UK)

1 on 1 I don’t think UK could keep their military running hard for a prolonged period if it drug on for to long.

Iran might struggle too with a semi strangled economy and possibly low morale. But they have oil and crooked neighbors that could trade some military hardware to close that gap. I wouldn’t underestimate them in a real gloves off type of situation on a land or urban battle.

Do they still work and do their delivery systems still actually work?
Being that as I recall, they are down to just a couple pretty older subs and some pretty old warheads while trying to find funds to complete the modernization.

This is what the UK needs. If the Brits do not respond accordingly then the UK will cease to exist in a few generations. I personally think the pussyification factor in the UK is too high. There won't be a second crusades.

A military conflict with iran would be a poor idea for iran. The Brits would be a proxy for the US. Every nuclear facility would be targeted and destroyed. They do have oil fields but those would be taken out in the beginning too.

The UK actually does have quite a nuclear capable force. Their submarines could sink every Iranian ship if they so desired.
