I think PSA has them for 9 shipped, or they have several mag/ammo deals which if you paid full price for the ammo the mags are sub 8.

So let’s get a count, how many mags do you think one should need? I mean you can only carry so many. Is it 10 per rifle? 299 total? Let’s here it. With that said, mags do break and wear out with enough use. They are also meant to be expendible. So by that logic 1000 might not be enough depending on what conditions are that you are using them and so forth.

Available storage area plays a part. Someone mentioned in another thread putting some extra lowers in a safe. Extra mags, lowers, parts kit and the like get boxed and stored outside of my house. If I were putting stuff like that on shelves, that would change my situation.
Great point and one I’ve thought about a lot. I don’t have a good answer but one more never hurt.
FWIW I want each child to have an 10 and 15 platform, six mags to practice with, others in case of emergency. And those are “standard” capacity in my mind. Need some 10 rounders for bench and hunting (because it’s lighter), need some bigger ones because America, need some colors because cool, etc.

Not necessarily, knucklehead. Its an investment for when they stop selling them and the prices quadruple over night. I recently bought two lower end AR's for just that reason.
Agreed. I did my share of panic buying after Sandy Hook, then again after another shooting. Nothing ever happened other than panic buying drove prices higher.
On the other hand, I bought my first Glock back when the AWB was still active. I remember paying $90 for a used G17 "hicap mag". Having lived through that, I now have no fewer than 40 Glock mags and 40 AR mags.
Its not panic, its simply reason. Theyve got to do something even if its only a straw man offering. Im guessing they will ban (future sales) of AR's (assault weapons ban) and high cap mags.

PSA has the D&H GI mags with the Magpul followers on sale ... even cheaper if you buy the 10-pack (not 10 individually). Just grabbed one of those 10-packs as well as another 25-rd mag for my 6.8 gun...plus another BCG with a 6.8 bolt while I was in there.

Yeah until they changed the law to prevent it we could do the same thing in CA. A bunch of us on CalGuns did a group buy for HK G3 mags that way right before the window closed. After paying someone to tear them down and reship, the $1 mags we bought cost us $3.50 delivered.
I have some P-Mags out back in a trash can if anyone wants to dig them out. I replaced them with Lancer mags

Lancers are the way to go. I have translucent versions in smoke and FDE. Gave all the PMags I had accumulated to my son when he finally got an AR.I have some P-Mags out back in a trash can if anyone wants to dig them out. I replaced them with Lancer mags
