I've got one in .308win. It will not shoot a consistent group. It has been cleaned. I've tried 150gn hand loads. Winchester factory 150gn and 180gn ammo and Remington 180gn. I've let other people shoot it to. I have not scoped the barrel but the rifling looks ok. The trigger sucks too. Any ideas? Thanks. Scott

I would start by replacing the trigger, barrel, stock and action. 
Seriously, the Rem M7 is not a "grouping" gun. It is a one shot hunting rifle. Unless yours is some factory special model it will have a very lightweight "pencil" barrel. That barrel heats up very quickly. It also likely has a pressure point in the fore end so the barrel is not free-floated. The type rest and amount of downward pressure you put on the stock when resting the rifle will likely play hell on consistent groups.
Bottom line; your rifle is what it is. If you want nice little one-hole groups it will quite possibly never provide even one.
They are GREAT rifles. I own a Model 7 in 7MM-08. It has taken a truckload of whitetails over the years and I love hunting with it. It is short, light and always puts the cold-bore shot in the same spot when, as I've read on this forum, I do my part.

Your best bet is to install a pressure point between the barrel an stock near the forward end of the stock. once you find a good load for her she should print the first 2-3 under 3/4 moa. After that she will string them do to heat. That gun is a 3 shot gun but only when cold, unless you do lots more work an spend tons more money. The model 7 is made to carry long an far an drop meat with the 1st or second shot.
Most 1/4 moa all day every day guns aren't,...well except when internet shooting at 100yds or less.
My sons shoots ok, but as you described trigger leaves a lot to be desired. Free floated barrel, and Hornady Interlock has produced min of deer for him for the last 5 years.
Rem will replace the trigger, original's were recalled. I have never sent ours in to far down the to do list.
I did have one M600 that had been bedded the full length of the forearm. That rifle shot pretty well. Well enough I would hunt with it.

Neither one is intended for group shooting. If it is a 600, trigger replacement might be more difficult.
